This majestic Spring Hill landmark art deco building was built in 1933 and is located on prestigious Gregory Terrace. Atop Spring Hill with views of the parklands in front and the city behind Carrington would send any real estate scribe into a frenzy of superlatives. Offering 3 x 5 bedroom apartments, (each apartment occupies a whole floor), Carrington is the only non-hotel accommodation option for groups of up to 27 in the inner city, who would like the privacy of the whole building for their exclusive use. Able to sleep 9-10 people per apartment, each apartment is perfect for weddings, family reunions, sporting groups or just a few friends who would prefer to relax in their own spaces. 

These apartments are a unique accommodation option in size, position and special features and decor.  The grandeur and luxury of an original art deco building which was fully refurbished in 2016 with all the comforts of modern living, Carrington is an important Brisbane building and is soon to be on the Heritage Register. We have retained all that was special from the 1930s, eg generous room sizes, high ornate plaster ceilings and the insulation benefits of double brick construction. Perhaps it's fair to say the hero is a more recent addition, being the oversized decks off each apartment. Views from every level include the city skyline and Story Bridge, and the breezes flow right through when the front windows are opened. 

The outside communal area provides an urban oasis. The grassed and paved area can be used for gathering the clan to enjoy the pool, fire pit, BBQ  all in a fully secured yard area - safe for smaller family members of the 2 and 4 legged kinds.

A warm home. We were so lucky to have found Carrington apartments!! The Guangdong Modern Dance Company visited Brisbane on a 3-week tour exchange and this was the perfect accommodation. Providing a home and an environment instead of just a bed is exactly what this house did. With relaxing views from the balcony, day and night, we enjoyed almost all our meals outside. This is a good place to get together and share a meal. There is plenty of space to host a nice gathering in a comfortable atmosphere. Basically it was amazing!! Large dining spaces, close to downtown restaurants bars but far away enough from noise, good relaxing spaces in the house, comfortable beds, enough kitchenware to cook a tasty meal, 2 secure keypads to keep things safe, responsive homes keeper if you have questions.

A Carrington Apartment

The 3 spacious apartments occupy a whole floor each and have been fully renovated late 2015. Rent 1, 2 or all 3 units. Carrington Apartments offer 3 different styles of art deco styling. Top level is decorated in the black/red/white bolder combinations and the animal influences of the time. The middle level features the oyster / grey white scheme with pops of lime and turquoise and creates more of a casual holiday theme. The lowest level is the more sophisticated beige hues with navy and yellow accents.

Calendars are accurate, however it's always worth asking if your preferred property is available, as some bookings are under our Best Fit Policy. This means guests are willing to move to another home, that may even include moving to another property in our Brisbane network.

PRICING

  • Each apartment $200/320 per night for 4 people
  • Extra people $25 per night
  • Linen $25 per person
  • Exit clean $250
  • Refundable bond $500
  • Baby package $55 - high chair,  cot (when available)
  • Pets $5 per night to maximum of $25 per week
  • 7-10nt bookings over 2 weekends +15% may apply
  • Extra cleaning $35p/hr
  • Min fee for any 3 night weekend $1500
  • 24 hour air con use $15 per day (first 10hrs free)
  • Free early arrival or late departure if available
  • Credit Cards + 2-3%

CONDITIONS

  • Minimum booking 7 nights. Christmas 10 nights
  • Bookings of less than 7 nights are accepted as follows... 
    - if your dates adjoin another booking or fill a gap
    - if booking is last minute
    - *Best Fit policy 
    (may be allocated another pre-agreed suitable home)
  • Booking not confirmed until 50% deposit paid
  • Balance due 30 days before arrival
  • Check in after 3pm check out before 10am
  • No parties allowed
  • No audible noise after 10pm Mon-Thur or 11pm Fri/Sat
  • Pets not allowed in carpeted areas nor on furniture

*BEST FIT POLICY: Our minimum stay is 7 nights, unless your booking is last minute, adjoins another reservation or fills a gap. Sometimes we can make you an offer under our Best Fit Policy.

You will be given the possible houses available for your dates and if there is any home that does not suit, let us know and we will make a decision as to whether we are in a position to make an offer. In the event your first choice home is not available and the new one offered is less expensive, you will be charged the lower rate. If the home you are offered is more expensive, you will not be charged extra for the upgrade. WIN!

Character property that oozes class with a little bit of funk!!!  Carrington House is perfect if your after a weekend/week away with a few people and wish to entertain, the facilities are exceptional. This property is close to restaurants, shopping city and clubs. We had a family trip for a wedding with some small children and the property ticked all the boxes. From deliciously comfortable beds, large bathrooms, stunning decor, two bbqs, swimming pool, private balcony, plenty of seating, foxtel, a surplus of storage space. You will not want for anything if you stay here!!! The owner Jennifer was prompt in replying to my request to stay at Carrington House and very helpful. I highly recommend this property and will be using Carrington House again as it was Perfect.

Spring Hill Attractions

Spring Hill is the more affluent suburb of inner Brisbane city, home to mostly professional couples and families. The suburb features character homes and significant buildings. It is a safe, well established and surprisingly unhurried for its inner city location. 

This is a superb location. Walking distance to the vibrant Fortitude Valley precinct and under 2kms from Queen St Mall. The RNA show grounds and the Royal Brisbane Hospital are a 5 min walk away. The Centenary pool complex is a short walk through the park opposite and is available for public use. 

Across the road is the 27 hectare heritage listed Victoria Park. Popular attractions include the Centenary pool complex, Victoria Park golf course and event venue.

Carrington Manor enjoys a walk score of 93/100 and a transit score of 93.. Considered a walker's paradise so daily errands will not require a car and achieves a transport score of 98/100 - 8 min walk to trains and bus stop 200m.


Things to Know

CITY VIEWS AND BREEZES: From every level and the outdoor area you can enjoy the views of the Brisbane city skyline and Story Bridge from the rear of the property. The front rooms overlook the beautiful Victoria Park. In summer if you open the back doors and windows at the front, breezes flow through the apartment.

PARKING: There is one garage per apartment, located in Bathgate Street to rear of property. Parking meters for 12 hours on street and free after hours and weekends.

DISPOSABLES:  We supply some starter disposables as a complementary service. They include - dish detergent, tablets for dishwasher, scourer, dish cloth, sachet for washing machine, toilet paper, tea + coffee, paper towels, alfoil, cling film, vinegar + oil, salt + pepper, sugar, liquid soap, shower cap, shampoo + conditioner. If you choose to replace some of these items, or leave your excess that is appreciated. They are not renewed during your stay.

PANTRY AND ALCOHOL: Often guests leave some items that we don’t remove if we think they may be useful for the next guest, and some we have supplied. This may include some spirits or drinks. You are welcome to enjoy what is there, and if you choose to leave some of your own, thank you for that.

LINEN: The optional linen package includes  - sheets, pillow slips, bath towels, pool towels, face washers, hand towels, bathmats, tea towels. If you choose to supply your own, the pillows, pillow protectors and mattress protectors, doonas and blankets are supplied at no charge 

SERVICING: If you would like to engage our cleaners for linen change or house clean during a longer stay, please ask for a quote. If you choose to look after this yourselves, there are washing facilities, some basic cleaning products, vacuum, broom, mop, dustpan. Full laundry with front loader washer, dryer, iron and ironing board.

PETS: We have our Spice Dogs - Chilli and Basil - black and tan dachshunds, so we know that pets are people too. We can't say we are a family friendly business if you can't bring some of your family with you to stay in our homes.  We have some conditions to you bringing them, (we have some conditions for people too), and have developed quite a good "responsible pet owner radar" and apply it ruthlessly!  Sorry, but no pets in season or excessive hair shedders. They are not permitted in the carpeted areas nor on furniture. Please clean up after them inside and out. We supply pet bowls as well.
