This architect-designed property features a spacious family home at the front and a charming cottage at the rear, offering complete privacy between the two, each with its own separate entrance. The entire site, along with some surrounding homes, was once the Sherwood Croquet Club, with the cottage originally serving as the clubhouse. The front house has exclusive use of the pool and outdoor entertaining, whilst the cottage boasts an oversized pet friendly yard!

Set on a generous 1/4-acre block in one of Brisbane's most prestigious suburbs, both homes exude charm, style, and space, creating a serene and livable atmosphere. This property was once the family home of Jennifer's parents, who cherished it for many years and simply we couldn't part with it. It's wonderful to see so many families now enjoying the warmth and character of this unique home.

The upper level of main home has 4 spacious bedrooms. The master with a king bed is overly generous in size with an ensuite with shower, double vanity, toilet with door, a walk in robe plus a large office attached. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed and private balcony, the 3rd room a king single and private balcony and the 4th is large with twin single beds. All have built in robes and ceiling fans. A main bathroom with bath, shower and vanity, plus a separate toilet.  There is a spacious sitting room, library area with a work desk at top of stairs.  

The lower level is semi open plan with  formal and informal dining suites, formal and informal lounges. Large screen TV. Full kitchen and laundry. Even an instant hot water tap. 3 sets of sliding glass doors, take you out to the pool area with fenced outdoor entertainment area. With outdoor lounge and dining suites plus a wall mounted TV, extra bar fridge and Weber BBQ. Lovely space to enjoy the large pool that looks across to the cottage, which is totally screened for privacy. 

Ducted air conditioning is reverse cycle and throughout the home. You will have exclusive access to the remote controlled double garage and keypad entry to the home - NO KEYS!


This is a most charming and most requested home we have for couples.  The cottage has a private entrance accessed down the left side of main house. A wheelbarrow is provided to take luggage groceries etc down the path. This was the original clubhouse for the Sherwood croquet lawns and we converted it to a most charming and comfortable home. 

The space is a split level with just 2 steps taking you to the oversized queen bedroom, with some classic old world furniture pieces. There is a mezzanine feel to the space as it overlooks the lounge area with a nib wall. Screen is available for privacy, but when there alone it is lovely to leave open. French doors access the front verandah which is a storage space and houses the dryer. It is screened for privacy to the main house. An alcove off the bedroom has drawers and hanging space plus a single bed tucked behind the half wall. There is a mobile screen there for a bit more privacy for this room.

The TV lounge is surrounded by floor to ceiling glass, looking out onto the large yard and gardens. Fully fenced for pets and totally private. The kitchenette has a microwave / convection oven, fridge, built in 2 burner hot plates, sink etc. It opens to the separate toilet and surprisingly large bathroom. With generous shower space, good sized vanity and washing machine. This are is accessed an original barn door, discovered when we took down the wall that had covered it, so as to open to this space. 

The sliding glass door take you to the shade covered patio with outdoor seating and Weber BBQ.

Why Sherwood?

Sherwood is 8.3 kilometres (5.2 mi) south west of the Brisbane CBD.  Home to mainly professional owner occupiers Sherwood is a much loved area. With wide streets, lush green surrounds and hard-to-beat Queenslander homes, this suburb is a true gem of Brisbane. Preferring to keep things low-key, Sherwood is a quiet neighbourhood with a strong sense of community that keeps locals loyal.

Sherwood Arboretum is part of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens collection. Officially opened on World Forestry Day on 21 March 1925, this heritage-listed site was established for Australian native trees.

The Sherwood Arboretum covers an area of 15 hectares and contains approximately 1100 trees, representing approximately 250 species. The site features a number of botanical collections including riverine, dry rainforest, dry sclerophyll, fig avenue, freshwater wetlands, and the main attraction being a grand avenue of 72 kauri pines.

Popular with families to use the free BBQ's, covered dining spaces and playground. Be sure to take some bread to feed the ducks. Entry to the arboretum is free. Dogs are permitted on leads.

PARKING: Main house - There is offstreet parking for 4 cars, 2 in lock up garage and 2 on driveway.
Cottage to use free street parking.

DISPOSABLES:  We supply a few starter disposables as a complementary service. These are not renewed during your stay.

LINEN: The linen package includes - sheets, pillow slips, bath towels, face washers, hand towels, bathmats, tea towels. If you choose to supply your own..... we will supply you with pillows, pillow/mattress protectors, doonas, blankets at no extra charge.

SERVICING:  If you would like to engage our cleaners for linen change or house clean during a longer stay, please ask for a quote. All homes include washing facilities, some basic cleaning products, vacuum, broom, mop, dustpan. Full laundry with front loader washer, dryer, iron and ironing board.

PETS: We can't say we are a family friendly business if we dont include your pets. We do have conditions of course, please ask for more information. Sorry, but no pets in season or excessive hair shedders. Not permitted in the carpeted areas nor on furniture. YOU MUST CLEAN UP AFTER THEM!
